Dutch born writer-director Eva Midgley trained as a dancer, followed by a BA in Media Studies. After a brief stint at advertising agency DDB Needham, she became fashion editor of “AD Magazine” in the Netherlands. Her first short film, “Honey and Bunny,” was a response to the male dominated view on female sexuality. Her collaborations with Coco de Mer, for whom she wrote and directed 8 art films were screened worldwide at festivals and won numerous awards, including Winner of the “Destricted” competition in London. In 2010, her short film “Peep Show” was part of the official selection at LA Shorts Fest and Hollyshorts. Her feature screenplay “The Magic of Valerie B.” was finalist winner at the Atlanta Film Festival.
Eva currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband and three boys. She directs commercials for brands like SKII, Mac Cosmetics, L'Oréal, Essie, Senseo, Wella, Dove, and Tresemmé. When not shooting beauty commercials, she is focused on writing feature films.
